Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how KakoExpress collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the platform. Please read it before using the site or submitting personal information. By using the site, you accept the practices described here.

Collection of information

We collect the information you provide directly: your profile information (first name, last name, email address, phone number, photo), your package information (description, weight, dimensions, photos), the recipient's information when you invite them to a delivery, the content of messages you exchange with your counterpart, your reviews and, in case of a dispute, the details (description, photos) you send us, as well as, if you publish a trip as a carrier, your flight information (airports, dates, flight number). Your payments and, for carriers, the identity verification required to get paid are processed by our partner Stripe: we never receive or store any card data or identity documents.

Cookie / tracking technology

The site uses cookies and similar technologies for its proper operation, as well as Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and the Facebook SDK to enable login via Facebook. These tools may collect information such as your browser type, operating system, and browsing behavior on the site, but do not let us directly collect personally identifiable information.

How we use your data

We use your information to: create and manage your account; connect senders and carriers for a booking; process payments and payouts via Stripe; send you notifications related to your bookings and deliveries, as well as important service updates; prevent fraud and keep the platform secure; review disputes that are reported to us; and analyze how the site is used in order to improve it.

Data sharing

We share some of your information with: your booking counterpart (the sender or carrier sees your name and can contact you through the platform's built-in messaging - we never share your phone number or email address with them directly); Stripe, for payment and payout processing; Google and Meta, if you use login via those services; and our technical providers (hosting, email delivery via Mailgun). We never sell your information to third parties.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, then for as long as needed to meet our legal obligations and resolve any disputes. When you request the deletion of your account, it is immediately deactivated and your data is subsequently permanently deleted from our systems.

Deletion of Personal Data

You may request the deletion of your personal data at any time. If you signed up via Facebook, removing KakoExpress from your Facebook settings automatically triggers the deletion of your data with us, in accordance with Meta's platform requirements. Minors

KakoExpress is reserved for people aged at least 18, in accordance with our terms of use. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.

Changes to this policy

We may modify this privacy policy at any time. The version in effect is the one published on this page. In case of a significant change, you will be notified before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after such a change constitutes acceptance of the new version.
